Long Title |
This Bill seeks to update the law relating to crimes of child exploitation by addressing the modern methods with which it is committed. The Bill is based on Queensland legislation, and -
creates an offence for using electronic communication to procure a child to engage in sexual activity, or to expose a child to indecent material; provides for the issue of a court order requiring a suspect, or person controlling a data storage device, to provide police with access to evidence of child exploitation offences that is contained within the device; and
amends the Working With Children (Criminal Record Checking) Act 2004 to include in Schedule 2 of that Act the offences of using electronic communication to procure children for sexual activity or to expose children to indecent material. |
