Position Title:Broadcast Operator
Level and Salary:$61,172 - $66,256 (pro-rata) per annum (Level 2) + superannuation + extra benefits

Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information:The Parliamentary Services Department is looking for a suitably qualified Broadcast Operator to assist in the broadcasting of parliamentary debates.

The Broadcast Control Room provides a high-quality broadcast of the parliamentary proceedings for access by members, chambers, parliamentary staff, the media, electorate and ministerial staff and the public. The broadcast is reticulated on the MATV system in the parliamentary precinct and streamed to the internet.

Key responsibilities include —

· monitoring parliamentary proceedings, switching cameras and microphones;
· operation of control room consoles;
· equipment testing and minor maintenance;
· recording and editing.

The anticipated hours of work for this part-time seasonal position will be approximately 15 hours Tuesday to Thursday when Parliament is in session (approximately 24 weeks per year) including some late nights. There may also be the occasional opportunity to work additional hours.
