Position Title:Barperson (Barista) – Casual
Level and Salary:$38.36-$39.58 per hour (includes 25% casual loading)

Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information:Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons interested in a casual position of Barperson (with strong barista skills). This position is part of the Catering Services unit of the Parliament of Western Australia. The Parliament is a prestigious environment and provides excellent facilities for staff.

The successful candidate will be required to work day and evening shifts, mainly Tuesday to Thursday (no weekends or school holidays), approximately 23 weeks of the year when the Parliament is in session.

Barperson duties include working in a small bar sometimes unsupervised, generating a high volume of espresso coffees, professional beverage service in the a-la-carte dining room restaurant, and function beverage preparation. A minimum of five years’ experience in the food and beverage industry, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and sound product knowledge of wine and general beverages is desirable.
Details:Applicants need to meet the following selection criteria:

· At least 3 years experience handling cash and working in a bar
· Reliable, dependable and diligent
· Proven high level of customer service skills
· Demonstrated experience working as part of a team
· Able to work in accordance with workplace safety guidelines
· Available to work late on sitting nights
· Effective time management in busy times
· Barista skills essential
