Pettitt's ancestor, William Bashford arrived in WA, 12 October 1829 on a ship called the Caroline. He was given some land on the Swan River (Derbarl Yerrigan), in the Swan Valley.
Pettitt's mother's family were pioneers in the Swan Valley, where they lived for several generations until his grandfather, Colin Hooper and his wife, Mary established a wheat farm east of Narembeen. |
