Question

(1) Are any ideas, proposals or projects being developed on the use of Western Australian native wood for energy production?
(2) If yes to (1), what are the proposals or projects?
(3) What companies or agencies is the State Government working with to develop the use of Western Australian native wood for energy production?

Answered on 2 December 2014

(1) The Department of Finance's Public Utilities Office is not aware of any proposal for the generation of electricity within the State that proposes to utilise native wood as a feedstock.

(2) Not applicable

(3) The Department of Finance's Public Utilities Office is not aware of any work in this area. Questions regarding the development of projects utilising the forestry assets of the State should be directed to the Forestry Products Commission.
