(1) Training provided by Transperth service providers is based on the Competency Standard from the Department of Transport "Heavy Vehicle Driving Competency for HR Class Licensed Drivers".
(2) In the defensive training techniques module, drivers are taken through the risks of changing lanes without due care and passing too close to other vehicles and cyclists. Further training and guidance is provided for drivers to remain vigilant and alert to other road users, including cyclists who do not comply with the traffic laws.
(3) Training is provided at the induction training for every driver, then every two years during refresher training.
