Question

              (1) When was the Central Area Transit (CAT) bus service introduced in the Perth central business district (CBD)?
              (2) How much funding was provided by consecutive State Governments for that service —
                  (a) From 2001–2005;
                  (b) From 2005–2008; and
                  (c) From 2008 to date?
              (3) What CAT bus services are there outside the Perth CBD?
              (4) How much funding was provided by consecutive State Governments for those services —
                  (a) From 2001–2005;
                  (b) From 2005–2008; and
                  (c) From 2008 to date?

The Public Transport Authority advises:

(1) The Perth CAT bus service first commenced operations in August 1996.

(2)(a) $24.6 million from 1 July 2001 to 30 June 2005.

(b) $32.7 million from 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2008.

(c) $45.1 million from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2012.

(3) The Joondalup CAT and Fremantle CAT bus services.

(4)(a) $1.4 million from 1 July 2001 to 30 June 2005.

(b) $1.5 million from 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2008.

(c) $2.6 million from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2012.
