Question
With reference to the recent Shannon National Park wildfire:
(a) what was the exact time the fire was first reported, by whom and to whom;
(b) what was the exact location of the point of ignition;
(c) what was the exact time of the first fire fighting response;
(d) what was that response;
(e) who made the decision to respond at that time and in that way;
(f) what was the area burnt:
(i) the wildfire;
(ii) in associated backburns; and
(iii) in total;
(g) will the Minister table a map showing the tenure of the land burnt in the wildfire and associated backburns (land vested in the Conservation Commission, private property, other – please specify);
(h) how many hectares were burnt in the wildfire and associated backburns in each of the tenures given in answer to (g);
(i) will the Minister table a map showing the category of the land vested in the Conservation Commission that was burnt in the wildfire and associated backburns (State forest, national park, nature reserve, conservation park, other – please specify);
(j) how many hectares were burnt in the wildfire and associated backburns in each of the categories given in answer to (i);
(k) Will the Minister table a map showing the fuel age of the whole area burnt in the wildfire and associated backburns;
(l) will the Minister table a map showing the areas within the burnt area that were scheduled for a prescribe burn in:
(i) 2015;
(ii) 2016; and
(iii) 2017;
(m) will the Minister table a map showing the areas within the burnt area that consist of even-aged regrowth karri regenerated since 1967 and the year in which they were regenerated; and
(n) how many hectares of post-clearfelled regrowth karri aged 25 years or less were burnt in this wildfire?

The Minister for Environment has provided the following response.
(a) 0955 hours 30 January 2015, Department of Parks and Wildlife spotter aircraft to the Parks and Wildlife Pemberton Office.
(b) Parks and Wildlife grid reference JE8486.
(c) 1000 hours 30 January 2015.
(d) 2 x fixed wing 802 Air Tractor water bombers and 1 x air attack supervisor in a fixed wing American Champion Scout.
(e) Parks and Wildlife Donnelly District Duty Officer in consultation with the Parks and Wildlife Donnelly District Level 1 Incident Management Team and Parks and Wildlife Warren Regional Duty Officer.
(f) The total area burnt in the bushfire and the associated back burns is approximately 98,700 hectares. The area burnt by the bushfire and that burnt from associated back burning is not separately recorded.
