MANGLES BAY MARINA
DEVELOPMENT
13. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the minister representing the
Minister for Lands:
I refer to the state's agreement with the
commonwealth on the transfer of land at Point Peron for recreation and/or
parklands and I refer to the minister's undertaking to ''provide
more detailed advice once a resolution is reached'' in response to my
question without notice 1072 asked on 24 November 2011.
(1) Has the
issue of whether the agreement remains binding on the state been resolved with
the commonwealth?
(2) If yes to
(1), will the minister please provide detailed advice regarding that
resolution?
(3) If no to
(1), when is this issue likely to be resolved and will the minister please
table all correspondence to date between the state and the commonwealth in
relation to this issue?
Hon
KEN BASTON replied:
I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Yes. The
state's position is very clear and has been conveyed formally to the
commonwealth, which in turn has acknowledged our position.
(2) Advice has
been received from the commonwealth that recognises that there is no
encumbrance registered on the certificates of title that impedes the land for
its proposed use.
(3) Not
applicable.
