Parliament: 41 Session: 1

ALBANY MOTORPLEX

47. Hon DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the Minister for Water:

I refer to the proposed rezoning of lot 5780 Down Road South for the proposed Albany motorplex and the concerns of residents that it is within a priority 2 drinking water area.

(1) Was the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation consulted given the proposal is situated within a priority 2 drinking water source?

(2) If yes, will the minister please table the correspondence and advice from the department and the minister regarding the proposal; and, if no, why not?

(3) If no to (1), will the minister undertake to review the impacts of the proposal on the priority 2 drinking source and provide advice to the community and the council; and, if not, why not?

Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN replied:
