Question

(1) What was the total spend on safety initiatives for cyclists in 2015-2016?
(2) Given that cyclists constituted four per cent of fatalities on Western Australian roads in 2014, will the Government commit four per cent of the overall funds available through the Road Trauma Trust Account to improving road safety for cyclists?
(3) If no to (2), what proportion of funds allocated to the Road Trauma Trust Account does the Government propose to allocate to the protection of cyclists?

In respect to the portfolio of Road Safety:
1. $302,182 was allocated from the Road Trauma Trust Account for safety initiatives for cyclists in 2015-16.
2. No.
3. Road Trauma Trust Account funds are allocated in accordance with the priorities of this Government’s road safety strategy, Towards Zero 2008-2020.
