CLIMATE
CHANGE — ADAPTATION
218. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the
minister representing the Minister for Environment:
I refer to parliamentary question 142. This is question C206.
(1) Other than
the Western Australian weather and climate program, which has not been funded,
has any funding been allocated under the ''Adapting to our changing
climate'' strategy to assist the state to prepare for the impacts of
climate change?
(2) If so, please provide details of
the program and allocated funding.
(3) Have any
specific adaptation measures—for example, legislative reforms, incentive
schemes or policies—been implemented as part of the ''Adapting
to our changing climate'' strategy?
(4) If so, please provide details.
(5) Has any
funding been allocated by the state government for development of heat wave
plans, evaluation of escalating bushfire risks, measures to mitigate risks from
sea level rise, research to deliver new crop varieties suited to hotter drier
climates and programs to protect the international biodiversity hotspot in the
south west of the state?
(6) If so, please
provide details of each.
(7) If no to any
of the above, why not?
Hon
HELEN MORTON replied:
I thank the member for the question, but I do not have
anything in relation to that question in my file. If it comes in prior to the
end of question time, I will be happy to answer the question.
