Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Lands:
I refer to the proposed Mangles Bay
marina-based tourist precinct.
(1) Will any
compensation be provided to the Department of Environment and Conservation for
the excision of the project area land from Rockingham Lakes Regional Park; if
so, how much; and, if not, why not?
(2) Will any
compensation be provided to the public or the Rockingham community for the loss
of public amenity and access to the land; if so, how much; and, if not, why
not?
HON WENDY DUNCAN

I thank the honourable member for

(1)–(2) The
project is currently in the statutory and environmental approvals phase, and
the details of any approval conditions, including the question of compensation,
are unknown at this stage.
