Parliament: 38 Session: 1

MANGLES BAY MARINA-BASED TOURIST PRECINCT

131. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Lands:

I refer to the proposed Mangles Bay marina-based tourist precinct.

(1) Will any compensation be provided to the Department of Environment and Conservation for the excision of the project area land from Rockingham Lakes Regional Park; if so, how much; and, if not, why not?

(2) Will any compensation be provided to the public or the Rockingham community for the loss of public amenity and access to the land; if so, how much; and, if not, why not?

HON WENDY DUNCAN replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. The minister has provided the following answer —

(1)–(2) The project is currently in the statutory and environmental approvals phase, and the details of any approval conditions, including the question of compensation, are unknown at this stage.
