Question
With regards to Mowen forest, near Margaret River, which is on the Forst Products Commission's logging list for 2014, I ask:
(a) by product and species, what volume of wood does the Forest Products Commission anticipate generating from the planning logging of:
(i) Mowen 1; and
(ii) Mowen 2;
(b) what was the cost of new roads to:
(i) Mowen 1; and
(ii) Mowen 2;
(c) what was the cost of upgrades to existing roads and tracks for:
(i) Mowen 1; and
(ii) Mowen 2;
(d) what was the total cost for construction of log landings;
(e) when was the most recent dieback survey done in:
(i) Mowen 1; and
(ii) Mowen 2; and
(f) will another dieback survey need to be done before logging can:
(i) commence in Mowen 1; and
(ii) recommence in Mowen 2?

(a) (i) For Mowen 1 the indicative volume of first and second grade jarrah logs attributed to this coupe in the annual harvest plan is 3 300 m3.
(ii) For Mowen 2 the indicative volume of first and second grade jarrah logs attributed to this coupe in the annual harvest plan is 4 000 m3.
(b)-(c) (i) The cost of roads for Mowen 1 was approximately $62 500. This includes upgrades to existing roads and tracks and new roads.
(ii) The cost of roads to Mowen 2 was approximately $95 900. This includes upgrades to existing roads and tracks and new roads.
(d) The Forest Products Commission (FPC) does not have this information.
(e) (i) 27 November 2013.

(f) (i)-(ii) This will depend on when logging commences.
