Question
(1) In the contracts of sale for native forest sawlogs that are being, or have been, finalised to operate under the Forest Management Plan 2014-2023, is there a clause that requires sawlog buyers to take their quota of sawlogs whether or not they want the logs?
(2) In the contracts of sale for native forest sawlogs that are being or have been finalised to operate under the Forest Management Plan 2014-2023, is there a clause that requires sawlog buyers to pay for their quota of sawlogs whether or not they take the logs?
(3) If yes to (1) and/or (2), has any investigation been carried out into the impact of either of these requirements on:
(a) the quality of sawn timber that will be produced;
(b) the price that sawmillers will receive for the sawn timber they sell; and
(c) the financial viability of the sawmills?
(4) If yes to (3)(a), (b) and/or (c), will the Minister table the findings of the investigation?
(5) If no to (3)(a), (b) and/or (c), why not?
