(1) From 1997-98 until this year, $1million was provided annually to the Heritage Council for assistance to private owners of State Registered places. This Government has increased this by 25% to $1.25 million for 2012-13 and out years.

(2) Not applicable.

(3) The National Trust received a budget allocation for 2012-13 from the State Government of $7.871 million, made up of recurrent ($2.736m) and capital ($5.135m) appropriations. The National Trust determines how this will be spent.

(4) Not applicable.

(5) The National Trust received a budget allocation for 2012-13 from the State Government of $7.871 million, made up of recurrent ($2.736m) and capital ($5.135m) appropriations. The National Trust determines how this will be spent.

(6) Not applicable.

(7) - (9)  The National Trust has 53 State Heritage properties under its control. There are

1,340 on the State Register of Heritage Places.

(10) 29.

(11) - (14)  The National Trust received a budget allocation for 2012-13 from the State

Government of $7.871 million. The National Trust determines how this will be spent.

(15) National Trust's requests for funding are considered as part of the overall Budget process. It should be noted, however, that the National Trust receives substantial funding from State Government sources.

In the past year, the National Trust has received a $2.5 million grant for 2011-12 from Lotterywest for the redevelopment and restoration of Wanslea. A further $4,092 million will be received in 2012-13 for this project. The site is earmarked to become a multi-charity cancer wellness centre.

The National Trust has this year also so far received more than $500,000 from Lotterywest covering a number of other projects, including:

· Old Farm Strawberry Hill garden project;

· Wanslea site works and infrastructure;

· Preparation of master plans for Avondale, Samson House, Gallop House and 57 Murray Street; and

· Oral history programs at Avondale and Luisini.

The Department of Environment and Conservation has also provided an $18,000 grant to rehabilitate degraded land at Kylie Dam on the Arthur River.

The Peel Development Commission provided over $64,000 for electrical headworks at the Jarrahdale Mill.

In addition to this, this Government has allocated $4.7 million in this year's State Budget for the restoration and conservation of 57 Murray Street. This will not only conserve the building, but will turn it into a revenue earning proposition for the National Trust.
