The purpose of this Bill is to amend the Coroners Act 1996 and the Evidence Act 1906 to provide for the Attorney General, on the recommendation of the State Coroner, to appoint a person to be a coroner for a specific period and on terms as speciified in the appointment. Further, the Bill provides for a number of amendments emanating from the review of the Coroners Act and those subsequently identified by the State Coroner. |
