The purpose of this Bill is to amend the Fair Trading Act 1987 to make it unlawful for a person to make a false or misleading statement concerning the place from which, or at which, goods or services are supplied. Furthermore, such an amendment would trigger S 69 of the existing Act, thus applying the penalties of $20,000 for an individual and $100,000 for a body corporate. |
