Long Title | The purpose of this Bill is to expand on the Civil Liability Act 2002 by codifying, and in some cases varying, certain common law rules of negligence in relation to foreseeability, standard of care, causation and remoteness of damage and contributory negligence. Most of the amendments give effect to key recommendations of the Review of the Law of Negligence (the 'Ipp Report'). |
Status | Assented to 10/30/2003 Royal Assent given 30 Oct 2003 as Act No. 58 of 2003. This Act comes into operation on a day fixed by Proclamation (see Assent and Commencement information for Acts) |
